Do you know GNUWin32? It’s an equivalent : http://gnuwin32.sourceforge.net

GnuWin32 provides ports of tools with a GNU or similar open source license, to MS-Windows (Microsoft Windows 95 / 98 / ME / NT / 2000 / XP / 2003 / Vista / 2008)

I tried installing this on Vista, and it didn’t work very well. Some commands work fine, but others crash (like ‘ls’).

Thanks. I found the original just before it went down, then lost my copy. Went to replace and found I couldn’t anymore.

You let me get it back again! Much more compact and cleaner than cygwin, as noted above (althout cygwin DOES have its uses!)

Fare well.
