Gaming Nostalgia.
I’ve been replaying Beneath A Steel Sky recently, after a gap of ooh, 11 years or so. I was 13 years old when I first played it, and thanks to the majesty of ScummVM I can once again relive my childhood. I’ve realised that between ScummVM and the MD, NES, and GB emulators that reside on my computer back in England that I may have a slight inclination towards the bitmappy video games of yesteryear. Playing these games again as a supposedly mature adult, it’s surprising that after a gap of 10 years in most cases, I can still remember pretty much every little trick that I used to finish each game back in those adolescent days. I guess it’s just like riding a bike after all….
All I need to do now is download a decent ZX Spectrum +2 emulator and my boyhood gaming collection will be complete. I have an urge to play the old isometric Batman game that needs to be satisfied.
